A brand new season is upon us. A new opportunity, a new beginning.
2025 is a year that takes our club to new records. We’ve added another Mens team and another Womens team; a total of 14 teams will be wearing the black and red of the Bombers this season. We think that’s a record for any senior footy club in Australia – if you know of a bigger one, please let us know; but for the moment we’re claiming to be the Biggest Senior Football Club in Australia.
Of course, fielding such a massive number of teams is a massive financial and logistical exercise, and we couldn’t do it without the efforts of our sponsors and our volunteers. But our philosophy is that, if people want to play for our club, we do what we can to make that happen. And we’re thankful that so many people want to play for North Shore.
Six of our teams start this week. The remaining teams start their competition next week on Saturday 5th April.
Of the six teams in action this week, five of them are back to back at our home ground at Gore Hill. We’ll have three premiership flags to fly, as we unfurl our spoils from last year’s Mens Premier Division, Mens Division One and Under 19.5s Division One titles.
The other team, our Womens Under 20s, hits the road to Gipps Road for a re-match of last year’s Grand Final against the Goannas.
Team selections are now up on the website and Team App. To everyone who has been selected to wear the North Shore jumper this week, congratulations. Wear the guernsey with pride and play the best footy you can in the right spirit – that’s all we’ll ever ask of you. And welcome to those who are making their North Shore debut this week; and there’s quite a few of you. And I expect there’ll be even more next week when the remaining grades start their seasons. It’s a great club, and we hope you’ll enjoy your time with North Shore.
We hope as many of you as possible can get to Gore Hill on Saturday. But if you can’t get there, and for our North Shore diaspora around the globe, you can catch the Premier Division matches live on Streamer.
For the Womens Premier Division from 12:35pm –

https://streamer.com.au/match/4600Score updates from all Gore Hill Oval matches will also be posted live on our Twitter/X feed (@northshorefc) and on Team App. I’ll also post the result from Gipps Road when I have it. If anyone is going to Gipps Road and isn’t playing or coaching and would like to post scores on Team App, that would be awesome; otherwise I’ll put the result up when I know it.
There’s plenty to do to make a game day, and several tasks that need to be performed. If you’re rostered on for duties this week, we’re depending on you to turn up with a smile, roll up your sleeves and do your duties to the best of your ability. It’s those who put the most into this club who get the most out of it. We put on a pretty good game day experience at Gore Hill; but that doesn’t just happen. We need you all to put your efforts in when it’s your turn.
So now it’s footy time! Good luck everyone! Here’s hoping you have plenty of fun and winning.
Let’s go Bombers!!
