Well you work to go on living, but on weekends comes the time…. Me I like football…..
And if your like football, we’ve got plenty of it this weekend. At Gore Hill, a whopping six games back to back as we go from sunrise to well after dark; including some Premier Division action in both the Mens and Womens. Gore Hill gives you a feast of footy. [late edit – we’re now down to six games. UTS have just informed us that they are unable to field a team in Under 19s Div 2, so we have a forfeit win. The first game on the card at Gore Hill will be at 9:40am]
Plus we have five teams on the road, including the longest road trips we have for Mens Div 4 and Womens Div 3 as they head down the Hume Highway to Wollondilly.
Team selections for this week’s matches are now online on the website and Team App. At this time of year it’s often a struggle to get numbers together; and I see in this week’s team selections some new names and others who haven’t played for us for a while. Welcome/welcome back – getting on the field today is a great thing.
And, and I’ve mentioned this before, as a community sporting clubs, there’s plenty of tasks that need to be done to make game days run smoothly. Our game days are among the best in Sydney footy; but that doesn’t just happen. It comes down to some committed volunteers, plus we have to roster players on for duties, particularly at home games. If you’re rostered on this week, we need you to turn up and cheerfully get stuck into whatever your role is. It’s those who put the most into this club that get the most out of it.
