Game Day - Saturday 13th April

12 Apr by Michael Shillito

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. Through the long off-season, the rigours of pre-season training. And now it’s time to begin our season and play some matches. Footy is back!!
It’s a big program of matches, with 11 of our teams fixtured to play. Six of them are back to back at Gore Hill, with four away games at Newtown and Under 19.5s Div 2 up at Mike Kenny Oval.

Team selections are now online on the website and Team App. To everyone who has been picked to wear the black and red of the Bombers, congratulations. And a big welcome to the club to the many players who are making their North Shore debut on Saturday; some of whom are playing their first ever competitive game of footy. Wear the colours with pride, conduct yourself well on and off the field, play the best footy you can, and have some fun! And to those who missed out this week, keep training – your time will come.
As a community sporting club, we need hands on deck to get various tasks on game day done. If you’ve been rostered on for duties, we really need you to step up and do your tasks with a smile and a willing heart. When everyone chips in and does their duties, everything works well. And it’s those who put the most effort in to the club that get the most out of it.
Our Mens and Womens Premier Division matches this week will be shown live on Streamer, the new streaming platform of AFL Sydney. In addition, I’ll be posting live score updates from the Gore Hill matches on our Team App and Twitter/X feeds; along with scores from our away games when I have them.

Good luck everyone. Have fun and play some great footy. And here’s hoping we get to hear the North Shore song plenty of times after our games this week.
